Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette has filed with the NFL a challenge to the team’s decision to void the guaranteed money in the final two years of his contract, a league source confirmed.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette has officially started proceedings to initiate a grievance to challenge the Jaguars voiding the remaining guarantees on his rookie contract, according to a report by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
He wants the $7 million in remaining salary under his rookie contract.
Asked what he accomplished in his meeting with Fournette to clear the air, Marrone said they talked on where they’re going, where they want to go and setting out a plan.
Marrone confirmed on Dec. 31 the Jaguars voided the remaining guarantees in Fournette’s contract following his suspension for fighting during their Nov. 25 at Buffalo.
Fournette will get his payday once he leaves Jacksonville.
