After watching a number of his teammates leave Jacksonville over the past year via trades, Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette decided to do a little recruiting to bring in some guys to play with him. Shortly after Cam Newton was released by the Panthers, Fournette openly recruited him on social media.
That move didn’t sit well with Jaguars AP reporter Mark Long. He was asked about Fournette’s open recruiting during an interview on ESPN690 and decided to call out the Jaguars running back.
Long said that Fournette was stirring the pot and embarrassing himself with his recruiting efforts. Before suggesting that Jacksonville might look to trade him, Long also said he would pick Gardner Minshew over Fournette longterm.
Those comments didn’t sit well with Fournette and he called the reporter out on social media.
