LeBron James will not participate in USA Basketball’s minicamp in Las Vegas next week, multiple outlets are reporting.
James, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, was in Vegas over the weekend to observe his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, play a summer league game, but he will not be present for the training camp, which is slated for July 25th-27 at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center.

James is expected to make his first public remarks about his decision to join the Lakers on July 30 when he presides over the grand opening of the I PROMISE School in Akron, Ohio, a public school created in partnership with his charity, the LeBron James Family Foundation
Can’t blame LeBron for opting out. He’s logged a crazy amount of games played the last few years, and he’ll need his legs come the end of the season if the Lakers will have any hope to beat the Warriors.
