During Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James noticed a young fan in the audience with a sign that read, “You are more than an athlete.”

LeBron had a Cavs staffer give the young fan his arm sleeve, to make sure the boy knew he appreciated the gesture. LeBron doesn’t want to just shut up and dribble, and this was his way of supporting the young fan.

Props to LeBron for trying to make a positive impact on society. In the scheme of things, athletes are just entertainment, which is just another distraction to keep our minds off the reality of the world.
I’d prefer my athletes to stick with sports, but I don’t mind when they step off the court to speak up. LeBron is also a business, so you have to understand he’s as much about making money as he is about social change.
