During Tuesday night’s loss to Wisconsin, Xavier forward Zach Hankins caught the eye of the internet and the basketball world, but not necessarily for his play on the court.  

Last year’s Division II basketball player of the year has an all-time nickname that was revealed during the game.  Hankins “three things you need to know” included his player of the year award, his dream and his nickname, which is Hankie McSpanky.  

What we don’t need to know is how he earned the nickname.  That said, Hankie McSpanky is hands down one of the best nicknames in all of sports.

From Division II player of the year to Division I nickname of the year, that’s quite the rise for young McSpanky.
