Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray was drafted by the Oakland A’s in the first round of 2018 MLB draft. Following the draft, he signed a contract with a $4.6 million signing bonus.
The plan was for the talented outfielder to report to the A’s in the spring after playing one last season of football for Oklahoma.
Now it seems like Murray is having second thoughts about that plan and never playing football again. According to ESPN’s Todd McShay, Murray’s new plan is to sit down with his family after the season and assess his situation.
Via OU Daily:
Todd McShay is saying he’s heard that Kyler Murray is not a lock to play baseball after this season. He will sit with his family after the season and assess.
So what has changed? Murray is having a Heisman Trophy winning kind of season. He could now believe that he has a shot at getting drafted in the NFL too and would prefer football over baseball.
