On Saturday night, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray won College Football’s top individual award, the Heisman Trophy.
With that comes increased attention and a sweep of his Twitter account to see if he sent out any offensive tweets when he was a teenager.
The internet investigators did indeed dig up a few old offensive tweets from the Heisman winner’s teenage years.
Murray issued an apology in the early morning hours on Sunday.
I apologize for the tweets that have come to light tonight from when I was 14 and 15. I used a poor choice of word that doesn’t reflect who I am or what I believe. I did not intend to single out any individual or group.

Be careful what you wish for. Your success may come and then some tweets you sent out as a teenager will be revealed forcing to to apologize for something you did as a 14 or 15 year-old.
