Kris Bryant Reached a New 1-Year Deal With the Cubs to Avoid Arbitration

Third baseman Kris Bryant and the Chicago Cubs have settled on a one-year, $18.6 million deal, a source familiar with the agreement tells ESPN.

$18.6 million isn’t a bad consolation prize for having to wait another season to become a free agent.  Bryant will still be hitting free agency in his prime.
