Big3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz stirred up the rumor mill this week after saying that he heard “from a credible source that Kobe is going to be playing next year,” during a call with reporters.
As it turns out, Kobe won’t be playing for the Big3 anytime soon, which was confirmed by Molly Carter, chief marketing officer of Kobe Inc., who told TMZ,

Ice Cube commented on his hopes to see Kobe play again, telling reporters on Tuesday,
“We have a list of people that we would love to see, I think the fans would love to see. The fans would love to see Kobe, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce. Anybody who still has the passion to play. We don’t want you if you don’t have the passion to play. If Kobe doesn’t have the passion to play at this level, then it’s better for him to watch on TV. If he has the passion, then here we are.”
No chance Kobe needs to prove anything in the Big3. His legacy is far too important to be tarnished by a 3 on 3 halfcourt league. GOATS don’t need to prove anything when they’re goats.
