Tampa Bay Rays centerfielder, Kevin Kiermaier, will be covering himself in Vaseline for today’s game in New York. He made his plans known when talking with reporters before the game.
With the home opener postponed due to snow on Monday and cold temperatures expected today, Kiermaier is using an old football player’s trick to combat the cold.
#Rays Kiermaier will try something new today to combat cold weather vs #Yankees – covering his whole body with Vaseline to serve as an extra layer against the wind.

Ok, I asked Kevin Kiermaier about the vaseline. He’s serious about it, and said he’s heard from other guys who have tried it that it’s just another layer the cold and wind has to go through. If nothing else, he says he’ll be properly moisturized after the game.

Have you ever tried to wash Vaseline off? Kiermaier will be mosturized for a few days. Covering yourself in Vaseline seems like a ton of work. Save yourself some time and energy. Put on some thermal underwear and get some of those hand warmers.
