NBA free agency officially begins on Sunday with rumors running wild on several players.
Durant is arguably the most intriguing player on the market.
He opted out of the $31.5 million final year of his contract with the Warriors, clearing the way to sign a max contract in free agency.
He also sold his Malibu home:
Now it appears he’s already bought a place in New York.
Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher suggests the Knicks could be Durant’s favoured destination.
And he adds the two-time NBA Finals MVP has moved home to the east coast.
“Sources familiar with Durant’s off-court business say Durant has since purchased a new home in New York and moved his belongings there,” he wrote.
If the Warriors held any hope of re-signing Durant to a max contract, they may have ruined their chance due to the build up to his Achilles injury.
Bucher reports Durant is not happy with the team for the way they handled the injury.
“The presumption is that it stems from whatever role Warriors officials played in his decision to suit up,” he added.
“Coach Steve Kerr says he was told Durant could not further injure himself by playing, which obviously proved not to be true.
“If Durant was told the same, it would give credence to the notion that, as one league executive claims, ‘He’s really pissed off at the Warriors.’”
KD seems like he’s happy in New York.
