Back in July, after Kawhi Leonard signed with the Clippers, Stephen A. Smith put his reporter’s hat on and reported that Kawhi’s Uncle Dennis was asking for a lot of stuff from teams hoping to sign the NBA Finals MVP.
“This is me putting on my reporter’s hat here. People in NBA circles are talking about this right now. Allegedly, the uncle, Uncle Dennis, was asking for a lot of stuff from the other teams. Houses, planes, sponsorship, guaranteed sponsorship money, just as an example. They’re throwing this stuff out there.”
The Athletic’s Sam Amick is now reporting that teams were complaining about Kawhi’s Uncle’s outrageous and illegal requests. The NBA reportedly investigated those complaints.
