Looks like Kawhi was always heading to the Clippers, and wanted to bring someone else in the fold.
In a report from ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, it was revealed that Leonard’s plan was always to end up with the Clippers and that in the midst of his recruitment of Paul George, he was also trying to get Kevin Durant on the team.
As Shelburne explains, Durant was surprised that Leonard had given him a call and was appreciative of the effort.

Now of course Durant had his plans in place too, as he and Kyrie have known for months they were heading to the Nets.
The Clippers and Nets will mostly likely be competing for NBA championships for years to come. Can we see a Clippers Nets NBA Finals one day…why not?
