Kawhi Leonard released his first statement since he forced his way out of San Antonio. The message from the newest Raptor was full of of thank yous for his former organization.
In addition to thanking the Spurs, he thanked his former teammates, Gregg Popovich and the fans.
The tone of the message is an odd one for a guy who forced his way out of an organization. The statement doesn’t sound like it was written by Kawhi.
If you just refused to play for a team and forced a trade to get out of San Antonio I don’t think your response would be thank you. It would seem like Kawhi would have two other simple words to say.
