Kawhi Leonard was believed to have agreed to a four-year, $141 million deal when the news broke that he had picked the Clippers. It turns out that wasn’t the case.
Leonard is signing a three-year, $103 million deal with the Clippers. He has the ability to opt out after the second year.
Kawhi’s player option lines up with Paul George’s player option meaning they both could enter free agency in 2021. Regardless, the acquisition of Leonard and George have made the Clippers one of the favorites to win the 2020 NBA title at the best sportsbook.
