Kate Upton, the wife of Astros pitcher Justin Verlander was not happy with the fan interference call on a ball that was close to being a home run for the Astros. She’s not the only Astros fan unhappy with the call, but she might have the largest following.
Watch this video! Mookie’s glove is closed. That’s a home run. #bullshitcall https://t.co/Zb9DLmCZgF

So if a player is IN the stands fans are suppose to move over? If those are the rules MLB shouldn’t let fans sit there. They didn’t reach over the fence. @MLB

Glad you asked. The last paragraph clearly states “No interference shall be allowed when a player reaches over a fence”. So no. The fans had every right at that ball pic.twitter.com/W8at5BULGV

I feel the need to acknowledge & address the amount of people who have called me “princess”, “honey” or a terrible “girl” sports fan. Just because I have an opinion on the call doesn’t give you the right to be degrading & disrespectful because I’m a woman.

As much as I love Kate Upton and hate the Boston Red Sox, I think they got the call right. The side view of the play clearly shows the fans reaching over the yellow line and into the field of play. The other angle shows Mookie Betts’ glove being closed by contact with the fan.
