Former Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen had one thing to do before heading to Miami. He had to play in Larry Fitzgerald’s softball game.
Not just play in the game, win the home run derby, take home the MVP award and receive a standing ovation.
Fitzgerald talked about the kind of guy his quarterback for less than a season is. He said that he was very fortunate to call Rosen his friend.
Via AZ Central:
“I think that’s just a testament to who he is as a man,” Fitzgerald said. “He could have very easily gone down to Miami already, or just said, ‘Hey, I’m not gonna do it,’ but it shows you his commitment, his character, and just friendship. I’m very fortunate to call him a friend. Looking forward to seeing him do great things in Miami.”
Quite the send off for a quarterback the new regime in Arizona wanted nothing to do with.
It sounds like Fitzgerald was very high on Rosen. Maybe the new coaching staff should have asked the veteran and face of the franchise what he thought of Rosen before deciding to move on so quickly.
