Tigers pitcher Jordan Zimmerman left Wednesday night’s game against the Indians in the first inning after taking a line drive to the face. He was able to walk off under his own power.
Early reports are that he suffered a bruised jaw and passed concussion tests. The line drive appears to make pretty solid contact with his face.
Considering how hard it was hit he’s lucky to have walked away with just a bruised jaw. It’s all part of the dangers of being a pitcher.
