32-year-old running back Jonathan Stewart is calling it a career. The former Carolina Panthers first-round draft pick in 2008, who spent last season with the New York Giants, signed a one-day contract with his former team to retire as a Panther.
Stewart appeared in just three games for the Giants, rushing for only 17 yards on six carries. Not exactly the way he wanted to finish his career, but the game has clearly passed him by.

Stewart thanked the Panthers for the 10 years he was in Carolina’s backfield. He still calls the Charlotte area his home and will now be a fan of the team he used to play for.
"Thank you @panthers for 10 amazing seasons and bringing me to this place that I now call home. Keep Pounding!!! – @jonathanstewar1”
