Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel’s second start in the CFL was a much better one than his first. He was 16 of 26 for 168 yards and more importantly he didn’t throw any interceptions.
Manziel added three carries for 36 yards and a possible concussion to his Saturday night. Apparently the CFL doesn’t have a concussion protocol, because Manziel took a huge shot to the head in third quarter and was back on the field the next series.
Manziel was visibly shook after taking the huge shot to head.
WHOA! Johnny Manziel takes a hit and the ball comes loose at the goal line — it's recovered by Kristian Matte for a @MTLAlouettes touchdown!#CFLGameDay pic.twitter.com/KEAfJEvg8H

Despite the improved play by Manziel and Montreal leading late in the game, the Alouettes ended up losing the game to the Ottawa Redblacks 24-17.
