After being released by the Montreal Alouttes and being banned by the CFL, Johnny Manziel took to Twitter to thank his coaches and announce that he will be exploring his options in the United States.
I want to thank Coach Sherman, my teammates, and the CFL fans. My time there reestablished my love for the game of football and the work that goes into it. I look forward to exploring new options within the United States.

One of those options is the AAF and according to Darren Rovell, Manziel has been in touch with the league. The league isn’t ready to have him on board just yet. They want to find out why the CFL banned him first.
Update: Johnny Manziel has been in touch with the AAF about possibly playing for the league (his rights are with San Antonio). Told AAF not moving on anything, if they do, until they find out why he was cut loose + to make sure he’s free and clear from Alouettes.

Who doesn’t want to see Johnny Football back on the field in the US? Comeback SZN 2.0 is going to be entertaining and good for the AAF. They need to jump on that as soon as possible.
