Kentucky’s John Calipari felt that it was necessary to address rumors that he plans to leave for the UCLA head coaching job. On Wednesday night, before he was tucked into bed, the Wildcats head coach took to social media and said that his plan and desire is to retire at Kentucky.
Before I go to bed, let me just say this: I’m coaching at the Univ. of Kentucky. In my opinion, there is no better job in the world to coach basketball. My plan and my desire is to retire at Kentucky. I think the university feels the same as I do and we’ve talked openly about it.

Calipari clearly wanted to address the rumors before tipoff of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. It could all be smoke and mirrors.
The bottom line is he wants his players focused on the tournament. He may have plans to retire at Kentucky. And he may have had talks with the school about doing so, but everyone has a price.
