Frankie Luvu, an undrafted free agent from Washington State, is bringing high-octane energy off the edge to a New York Jets team desperate for it and people are noticing.
Unfortunately for him, he was fined for a bone crushing hit, which will cost him. Check out the tweet below, something’s not adding up.
The weekly preseason pay for a 1st yr NFL player is $1,075. Jets undrafted rookie LB Frankie Luvu has made $4,300 this summer. The NFL fined him $20,054 for his illegal hit vs the Redskins. He’s officially in the hole $-15,754. pic.twitter.com/17D48p5Q3P

So here’s how it actually works, check out the tweet below.
If he makes the roster it will be deducted….if he’s released if’s voided… but still if he makes roster his first paycheck will be about $17k after taxes…so technically he will be playing for free Week 1 If makes team

Wow, potentially he’ll be playing for free come Week 1. Considering how your career can be over in a split second, that’s a risk he shouldn’t be willing to take.
The NFL needs to take care of its players in these unusual set of circumstances that will arise every so often.
#Jets LB Frankie Luvu blasts #Redskins backup QB Colt McCoy in what probably should have been an ejection based on todays NFL standards of illegal helmet contact & protecting the QB. McCoy was able to remain in the game #NYJvsWAS #NFLPreseason pic.twitter.com/bTPkn24qSX
