Jennifer Lopez and her baseball icon Alex Rodriguez have been together for about a year, publicly at least. That doesn’t mean she’s ready to commit long-term to the controversial former Yankees slugger.
The Amor Amor Amor singer told the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands March 27th, that she while she does ‘believe in marriage,’ she is ‘not forcing anything right now.’
‘I do believe in marriage, and I would love to grow old with somebody in a committed relationship. ‘But I’m not forcing anything right now’;
J-Lo has been married three times already: to Ojani Noa from 1997 until 1998; to Cris Judd from 2001 until 2003; and to Marc Anthony from 2004 until 2014. All misfires, and now she’s not looking to make A-Rod the next Mrs. J-Lo, not yet at least.
J-Lo also talked about sexual harassment in the article, a hot button topic lately. She said that she has experienced sexual harassment.
‘I haven’t been abused in the way some women have. But have I been told by a director to take off my shirt and show my boobs? Yes, I have. But did I do it? No, I did not.
‘When I did speak up, I was terrified. I remember my heart beating out of my chest, thinking, ‘What did I do? This man is hiring me!’ It was one of my first movies. But in my mind I knew the behavior wasn’t right. It could have gone either way for me. But I think ultimately the Bronx in me was like, “Nah, we’re not having it.”‘
By all accounts A-Rod and J-Lo seem like the perfect fit. No doubt A-Rod will eventually ask for J-Lo’s hand in marriage. When that day comes, we’ll make sure to report on it, because that’s what we do. You can thank us later.
