Cavallari and Cutler reached a temporary custody agreement earlier this month, agreeing to split their time 50/50.
But Jay is looking for long-term custody of the children, according to their divorce filings.
The Very Cavallari star was ‘blindsided’ when the retired Chicago Bears quarterback filed for divorce in late April, after he and the Uncommon James founder had reportedly been working toward an amicable split.
Another source told E! News: ‘She had hoped they could work things out more amicably and they were off to a good start before Jay pulled the trigger.’
