Jason La Confora tweeted out that former NFL head coach Jeff Fisher, aka Mr. 7-9, was in line to coach Houston of the XFL. Fisher took to Twitter and issued a denial, calling the report “false news,” so you know he sent the tweet himself.
@JasonLaCanfora false news that I am headed to XFL Houston. Maybe get better sources? 🤣 Have a great Thursday. pic.twitter.com/X3cCYJOGPu

A few hours later La Confora responded with a “super-duper clear” tweet and doubled down on the Fisher to Houston false news. He said Fisher had talks with the XFL about the Houston opening and that Fisher remains the top choice for the job.
Just to be super-duper clear, Jeff Fisher absolutely talked to XFL about the Houston opening, he remains their top choice for that job and the job is still vacant. And i never reported he signed on.

We get it, you were clearly reporting Fisher was going to be the head coach in Houston, without saying those exact words. That leaves the door open to later say in a super-duper clear tweet that you never said the thing you were implying.
A Big J journalist move.
