Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon was forced to leave his start on Friday night after opening up a cut on his middle finger.

When asked about whether or not he would take the ball for his next start he said he would do what it takes to be out there, including having the injury peed on.

Via Deadspin:

“I said if it helps, I’ll put a sign-up sheet and everyone can come and pee,” he said. “I don’t care. I just want it to go away.”

Taillon added, “If it helps, I would do it. I’m not scared, man. I just need to be out on the field.”

On Monday evening Taillon attempted to clarify the comments, but made it clear that if it works he’ll do it.

If I’m his teammate I’m taking a leak all over him.  He’s practically begging to get pissed on.
