Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and the Arizona Uber driver who accused him of sexual battery reached a settlement on Monday. The settlement will be finalized in the next 10 days and details of the settlement aren’t known.
Via Tampa Bay Times:
In a joint notice of settlement filed in federal court Monday, the driver’s attorney, John Clune, wrote that his client “reached an agreement” with Winston to resolve her claim. The filing in the U.S. District Court for Arizona said the sides will need about 10 days to finalize the settlement.
Its terms were not specified.
The agreement comes two and a half years after the driver —identified only as Kate P. — gave Winston a ride in Arizona. She said that the former Florida State star “became belligerent,” swore and used racial slurs.
The woman accused Winston of grabbing her crotch while they waited in the drive-through of a Mexican restaurant.
This makes the second time the former Number 1 pick has settled a sexual battery lawsuit. Back in 2016, he and Erica Kinsman, the FSU student who accused him of rape, settled their lawsuit.
It might be time for the Bucs to really consider moving on from Winston.
