Luke Walton, who not too long ago was the hottest young coach in the NBA, is close to being canned in Los Angeles. The Lakers head coach was given the kiss of death by Magic Johnson when he said Walton wouldn’t be fired.
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and the fire is burning bright enough for Jalen Rose to see it. According to Rose, this will be the last season Luke Walton coaches LeBron James.
“I clearly don’t speak for Jeanie Buss, Magic Johnson, or Rob Pelinka, but what this tells me is that this will be the only season that Luke Walton coaches LeBron James.”
That wouldn’t surprise anyone, especially if the Lakers fail to reach the playoffs. Which at this point is a real possibility, even with LeBron James.
