According to Pro Football Talk, the NFL fined Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue $13,369 for his Hingle McCringleberry celebration. The celebration came after a sack during a preseason game.
The fine proves one thing, even in the preseason there is no fun in the National Football League. Ngakoue claimed after he was flagged for the celebration that he didn’t know pelvic thrusts were an obscene gesture.
After last week’s game, Ngakoue said he didn’t realize his pelvic thrusts would be viewed as an obscene gesture, and therefore a penalty.
“I did not know that would be a penalty, but you know, it is what it is. You learn from it, and you got to move forward,” he said.
Apparently Ngakoue isn’t familiar with the Key & Peele skit. That or he thought it only applies to touchdown celebrations.
