It isn’t news that Trevor Bauer is a different kind of guy. But what he revealed to Jeff Passan on Yahoo! Sports MLB Podcast is still bizarre.
The Cleveland Indians pitcher says he will never sign a long-term contract because, “I don’t wanna get shot in the nuts with a paintball gun from ten feet away.”
Bauer said it was a bet he made with his best friend a few years ago, “It’s an agreement, a gentleman’s agreement.”
Trevor Bauer says he's never signing a long-term deal. Only one-year contracts.
Why? Turns out he made a bet with a friend: If he ever signs a multi-year deal, the friend gets to shoot him in the nuts with a paintball gun from 10 feet away.

That’s one hell of a gentleman’s agreement. Hopefully, for Bauer’s sake, he avoids a major injury and has saved the money he has made wisely.
