The UFC is adding a bantamweight bout between former champion Henry Cejudo and Marlon Vera to UFC 292 on Aug. 19 in Boston, UFC president Dana White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout but have yet to sign contracts.

Cejudo, 36, lost to bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling via split decision on May 6 at UFC 288 after coming out of a three-year retirement. He originally said he wanted to face No. 1 bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 292 following the defeat, but the former UFC double champ opted to jump at an opportunity to fight in August, according to Okamoto.

Meanwhile, “Chito” most recently fought Cory Sandhagen in March, losing via split decision in a five-round clash. The defeat ended the 30-year-old Vera’s four-fight win streak.

Cejudo and Vera currently rank third and sixth, respectively, in the bantamweight division.

A bantamweight title bout between defending champion Sterling and Sean O’Malley will headline UFC 292, with a fight between women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili versus Amanda Lemos serving as the co-main event.
