Roger Goodell is happy to have more eyes on the NFL amid the newfound romance between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift.

The NFL commissioner shared his thoughts on the Kelce-Swift relationship Wednesday during an appearance on “CBS Mornings,” saying the league has welcomed the added attention it’s been getting lately.

“Listen, they’re happy. They seem to be enjoying their relationship – that’s great in and of itself,” Goodell said. “But it has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL in some ways. To see that they have a connection, now they have a connection to our game and to Taylor. She’s an unbelievable artist, obviously Travis is an unbelievable player. I think it’s great for the league to have that kind of attention, so we welcome it.”

Swift has been attendance for several Chiefs games this season, leading to a big spike in viewership. The Chiefs’ Week 4 win over the New York Jets alone averaged around 27 million viewers, including a large percentage of teen girls and women, according to NBC Sports.

The Chiefs will face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday without Swift in attendance, as she has a concert scheduled that night in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
