Duke’s undefeated season lasted only five games. The number one ranked Blue Devils lost in the Maui Invitational’s championship game on Wednesday night to the third-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs.
The game was decided by just two point, 89-87, with Duke getting a last second opportunity to tie the game. The shot was blocked and with it all hopes of an undefeated season for the Blue Devils.

It’s better to lose a game early on than to have your first loss come in the NCAA Tournament. That’s a lot of pressure for a young team to have to deal with.
