Golden Knights center Erik Haula had to be stretchered off of the ice after a seemingly harmless check into the boards by Maple Leafs forward Patrick Marleau.
Haula had his skate get caught between the board and the ice. He then fell awkwardly backwards and apparently suffered a significant injury to his knee.
It’s a tough break for Haula. We wish him nothing but the best. That said, there might not be a funnier stretchering off of the playing surface than what takes place in the NHL.
The only thing missing is some Benny Hill chase type of music.
