The San Francisco Giants announced on Monday that CEO Larry Baer is taking some personal time away from the team in the wake of a domestic incident in a park involving his wife.
Baer’s acknowledged his behavior was unacceptable and has apologized to the organization. He’s also taking steps to make sure that it never happens again.
Major League Baseball is reportedly investigating the incident. In the video Baer is seen grabbing what was later said to be a phone out of his wife’s hand. She was seated and fell off of whatever she was sitting on during the brief altercation.

It’s not a great look for Baer, but it’s not like he struck his wife. She fell off of something while the two were struggling over a phone. Unless there’s more to the video than what was revealed, it seems like an overreaction to take personal time.
