Gerrit Cole is not returning to the Astros next season. The free agent to be made that completely clear following Houston’s Game 7 loss to the Nationals.
Immediately after the game Cole told reporters he was no longer an employee of the team and spoke about the city and his Astros teammates in the past tense.
The hard throwing righthander did so while wearing his agent Scott Boras’ hat. He’s on team about to get paid right now.
