Following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis, a former NFL executive is calling for the Vikings to sign Colin Kaepernick.
Joe Lockhart, the former NFL vice president of communications, said the reason Kaepernick has gone unsigned by teams is because they didn’t want to sign any player “they saw as controversial, and, therefore, bad for business.”
Kaepernick’s peaceful protests prior to games was seen as controversial and bad for business.
