Former high school cheerleader, Brooke Skylar Richardson, was found not guilty of killing her newborn child. She had been accused of killing her child back in 2017 and burying the baby in her backyard two days after her senior prom.
The 20-year-old Richardson was found guilty of abuse of a corpse and still faces time in jail, although she’ll likely be given time served.
Via WLWT-5 News:
A young Ohio mother who prosecutors said killed and buried her unwanted newborn in her backyard just days after her senior prom so that she could keep her “perfect life” was acquitted of murder Thursday.
Brooke Skylar Richardson, now 20, began shaking and sobbing while a judge read the not guilty verdicts on aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment charges.
What a crazy story. If she did commit the crime we assume living with that knowledge will be enough of a punishment enough.
