Both Jeffrey “Scooby” Carter, a freshman defensive back with the 2019 Crimson Tide, and girlfriend Terren Merritt were arrested for on third-degree domestic abuse charges in Tuscaloosa. Officers were called to an apartment at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday after an argument between the two.
Officers found probable cause to arrest both Carter and Merritt after pushing and shoving from both parties, Tuscaloosa police told AL.com Thursday morning.
Both were listed Thursday morning in custody at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $500 secured bond.
