Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez recorded his 2,500 strikeout in Boston on Saturday. It’s quite the accomplishment for the one fans used to call King Felix.
The 33-year-old is unfortunately a shell of his former self and proved that an inning later by giving up six runs and being bounced from the game.
Hernandez lasted just 2.1 innings giving up 7 earned runs on 6 hits. He also walked 3 and had 3 strikeouts and is on the hook for the loss should the Mariners lose the game
Hernandez is currently 1-3 on the season in 7 starts with a 5.20 ERA. But at least his hat is still on crooked and he has all the swagger of a star pitcher still.
