The abuse led to allegations of a cover-up at Michigan State and within the national gymnastics program, leading to turnover of top leaders in both organizations.
The charges were filed in state court by William Forsyth, a special prosecutor appointed by the Michigan attorney general to investigate how the university handled complaints against Dr. Nassar.
