Penguins center Evgeni Malkin was ejected from Wednesday night’s rivalry game with the Capitals for a dirty hit. He hit Caps right wing T.J. Oshie with an elbow right on the chin.
Oshie went down hard and collected himself before returning to his skates. You can’t get away with these kinds of hits in today’s NHL.
Malkin gets 5 minute major, 10 minute game misconduct for this high hit on Oshie. Oshie heads to locker room.

Oshie was able to stay in the game and later scored the game winning goal.

The lesson here is, if you’re going to get ejected for a dirty hit, make sure it’s hard enough to knock the player on the receiving end out of the game too.
