The message Brees promotes in the video has not been called into question. However, some have wondered why he is promoting a group that opposes abortion and same-sex marriage, among other issues, and have criticized him for the association. Critics have also noted Brees has appeared in anti-bullying campaigns with Ellen DeGeneres going back to 2010.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback has a history of association with the group. Focus on the Family featured his “Team Brees” family in a 2015 website posting and also sold a CD from an interview with the quarterback in 2010, according to “The Big Easy Magazine.”
Focus on the Family has received attention for a video involving a quarterback in the past. Back in 2010, Tim Tebow was part of an anti-abortion Super Bowl ad that came from the group.
Brees isn’t out there spreading any messages of hate and you’ll probably find most religious groups aren’t fans of abortion. It seems like people might be out of real problems.
