The stupid “Aaron Rodgers” rule that is ruining football caused its first injury to a defensive player who was attempting to not land with their bodyweight on a quarterback. Dolphins head coach Adam Gase revealed on Monday that defensive end William Hayes tore his ACL trying not to land on Raiders quarterback Derek Carr with his bodyweight while sacking him.

The injury occurred in the second quarter of the Dolphins win over the Raiders and ended Hayes’ season. The way things are going, it won’t be long before the quarterback will be wearing a red jersey and be “tackled” by two hand touch.
We have Aaron Rodgers and his brittle collarbone to blame for this…
If this was William Hayes’ last play of the season because of the knee injury he suffered then he went out like the true warrior he is. I have so much respect for his game. He’s an old school football player. Not many left like him in the game today. pic.twitter.com/PhqetkD2AQ
