Dodgers reliever Pedro Baez was forced to leave Tuesday night’s 7-3 win in Tampa in the 7th inning after he took a 103 mph rocket off of his knee. The kine drive knocked him to the ground and left him walking with a noticeable limp.
Baez needed help making his way off of the field and into the locker room for medical attention.
.@willya02 gets the @RaysBaseball on the board with an RBI, but Pedro Báez takes a hard shot to the knee that forces him to exit the game. Hoping for the best for Pedro.

After the game it was revealed that x-rays of Baez’s leg came back negative, which is good news. He will still likely miss a little time as he lets his “right upper leg contusion” heal.
It’s hard to get out of the way of a rocket, especially one hit at your legs. You really can’t get them out of the way like you can the upper part of your body. A nice ice bath should help the healing process.
