The Redskins cut defensive back D.J. Swearinger on Christmas Eve after he publicly criticized defensive coordinator Greg Manusky following their loss on Saturday. The move didn’t sit well with fans, including Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The retired racing legend took to Twitter to blast Washington for cutting Swearinger while claiming Reuben Foster after his domestic violence arrest and for keeping Mason Foster after he trashed the team and their fan base.
The optics on all this is crazy. Claimed Reuben. Kept Mason. Released DJ….. on Christmas Eve??!?!? 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ https://t.co/PBxxj6HDeH

Cutting a player on Christmas Eve is never a good look. The Redskins recent moves only make the Christmas Eve cut look worse.
