Contract extension talks between the Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott have reportedly stalled. The 26-year-old has patiently been waiting for other young quarterbacks around the league to cash in on their second contracts before inking his new deal with Dallas.
Both Carson Wentz and Jared Goff have earned huge new four-year deals around the $130 million mark with over $100 million in guaranteed money. Prescott, despite not having the same NFL success as the two of them is going to want something above that mark.
Dak didn’t holdout in training camp and is using his endorsement deals to delay the need for a huge NFL payday, so the expectations are that even if a deal can’t be done he’ll be on the field, performing at a high level, for the Cowboys.
