The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly offered quarterback Dak Prescott a new contract. According to Prescott, he turned down the initial offer and his representatives sent back a counteroffer.
The terms of the original offer aren’t known, but there is speculation that the Cowboys would end up giving Dak a deal that exceeded $30 million a year.

If this offer was anywhere near the $30 million a year mark and Dak turned it down the Cowboys need to stop negotiations. They would be crazy to offer him that kind of money in the first place.
Prescott is the quarterback of a run first offense. They need to put that money in the backfield and let him test the open market.
