The Cy Young Award presenter trashed the Mets on Wednesday night as he announced Jacob deGrom as the National League award winner.  He said that the Mets ace received more support from the baseball writers than he did from his teammates.

That’s a line he had in the chamber all night.  He might not have showed it on his face as he delivered line, but he was thoroughly pleased with it.  While the presenter was able to hide his joy, deGrom was not.  He was all smiles after the line was delivered.  

Could deGrom just have been happy that he was taking home the award?  Sure, but we’d like to think that he liked the shade thrown at his teammates as well.
